For over 15 years since interim establishment in 2006 and formal establishment in 2013, the CTIC has worked with its Member States and partners to strengthen regional, national and community preparedness for and resilience to tsunamis and other coastal hazards. This is being achieved particularly through the on-going focus on the development of tsunami early warning systems. This involves the implementation of initiatives such as the CARIBE WAVE Exercise and the Tsunami Ready Programme among others including the development and distribution of tsunami preparedness materials.
